Bexie Kirksey

Bexie Kirksey, 86, of Leesburg GA, died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at her residence surrounded by family. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Mike Lawson will officiate. Interment will follow at Live Oak Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Baker County, GA.

A native of Colquitt, GA, Mrs. Kirksey had resided in Leesburg for the past thirty-five years, moving from Baker County. She retired from Kroger Supermarkets and was a member of Providence Church. Mrs. Kirksey was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Kirksey.

Survivors include a son, Joe Kirksey (Rosemary) of Leesburg, GA, eight daughters, Jean Lee (Tucker) of Knoxville, TN, Duane Tait of Valdosta, GA, Patricia Mathis of Leesburg, GA, Barbara Whitaker (Donald), Gail Moree (Gary), and Deborah Kirksey all of Albany, GA, Wanda Sanders (Steve Peace) and Marcia Gatlin (Scott) of Leesburg, GA, a sister, Virginia Mott of Gainesville, GA, and all of her beloved grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
