Beverly "Jean" Moore

Beverly “Jean” Moore, 69, of Leesburg, GA, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Lee County Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Interment to follow to Thundering Springs Cemetery. Rev. Larry Harrell will officiate. 

Jean was born on Ft. Eisenhower on October 4, 1954. She grew up in Churchill Tennessee and moved to Albany GA, where she met her husband Thomas “Doodle” Wayne Moore, and they moved to Lee County in 1976. Jean worked for Old Navy and K-Mart for over seventeen years before physically had to retire. She was a member of Thundering Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and a good cold cherry Pepsi Cola. 

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas Wayne Moore Sr., son Tommy Moore Jr., brother Bobby Barber, parents Ralph and Hassie Marie Barber, and adopted father Bob Barber.

Survivors include her son Robert "Buck" Moore and his Wife Charity of Lee Co., sister Pat Story of Atlanta, GA, mother Jo Barber of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren Chase Moore, Megan Moore, Jasmine Ritenour, great-grandchild Jayce Schelske, numerous nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Cheryl Barber of Lee Co.
 
 The family will receive friends Saturday at Mathews Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m until 5:00 p.m.
