Betty Joyce Powell

Betty Joyce Powell, 82, of Albany, GA, died July 23, 2018 at Pine Point Hospice in Macon, GA. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at Lighthouse Ministries. Rev. Chris E. Turner will officiate. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Powell was born in Harrisburg, AR to the late Robert and Anna Mae Hanna. She graduated from High School and married John T. Powell, Sr. in 1953. She was a Military wife and homemaker traveling to many stations before moving to Albany, GA in 1964. Mrs. Powell enjoyed crafts, sewing, the flea market and gardening. She was a member of Lighthouse Ministries and taught Sunday School for over forty years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Powell, Sr. and a granddaughter, Suzanne Powell.

Survivors include her children, John Powell of Ormond Beach, FL, Diane (Bill) Rodriguez of Orlando, FL, Kathy (Tony) Anthony of Albany, GA and Barbara (Wesley) Akins of Perry, GA, eleven grandchildren, Clint (Melanie) Powell of Columbus, GA, John (Katya) Powell of Indianapolis, IN, Blake (Dana) Powell of San Antonio, TX, Candace (Clayton) Briley of Poulan, GA, David (Kimberly) Rodriguez of Florence, SC, Crystal Rodriguez of Orlando, FL, Justin Rodriguez of Orlando, FL, Paul (Leigha) Anthony of Ashville, NC, Keith “Wormy” (Kimberly) Anthony of Forsyth, GA and Teresa (Irby) Allen of Albany, GA, and her great-grandchildren, Shelley, Anna Reagan, Maeley, Aaron, Hanna, Max, Jacob, Camden, Maddie, Tanner, Dalton, Cullen, Zane, Zander, Darcy, Katie, Josie, Lois, Yurii, Oliver, Luke, Annabelle, Willow and Brayden.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Lighthouse Ministries.
