Betty Flowers Parmelee, 90, of Parrott, GA, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at her daughter's residence. Graveside service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Parrott Cemetery with Rev. Julian Griner officiating.
Ms. Parmelee was born on August 11, 1922, to the late Wayland Smedley Flowers and Addie Pinkston Flowers. A native and lifelong resident of Parrott, Ms. Parmelee was a member of the Parrott Baptist Church. She attended Valdosta State College. She was an accomplished artist, enjoyed music, storytelling and loved to dance.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Parmelee (Mike Sheffield) of Albany, GA, Joanne Hardy Thomas and her husband, John C. Thomas, IV of Thomasville, GA, two grandsons, John Benjamin Hardy, Jr. and James Morel Hardy of Jacksonville, FL, two step-grandchildren, Anna Thomas and John C. Thomas, V, both of Tallahassee, FL, Janet and Joanne's brother, Michael Parmelee of
Brooklyn, NY.
The family will receive friends following the service in the annex of the Baptist Church of Parrott.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Parrott Baptist Church, Parrott Volunteer Fire Department or the charity of your choice.
