Betty Lewis Montgomery

Betty Lewis Montgomery, 70, of Lee County, GA, died March 15, 2013 at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fl. Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Haefs will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at funeral home.

A native of Russellville, AL, born to the late Freeman and Nora Lewis, Betty moved to Albany with her late husband, Carl J. Montgomery in 1956. She was a homemaker, a cosmetologist and self employed business form producer. Betty attended the Gillionville Baptist church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Crepe Myrtle Chapter # 163.

Survivors include her daughters and their husbands, Lisa and Kirk Baxter of Los Angeles, CA and Carla and Michael Goldman of Columbus, GA, her grandchildren, Britney Larch of Los Angeles, CA, Carlton Baxter of Columbus, GA, Ian Baxter of New York, NY, Montgomery Goldman and Joseph Goldman both of Columbus, GA, brothers-in-law, David Humphries, Dennis Morgan and his wife, Fayrene and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Morgan and her husband, Billy all of Russellville, AL.

Betty’s remains will be interred with her husband, Carl at her hometown of Russellville, AL.
