Betty English Inlow, 95, of Albany, GA, died September 1, 2023 at Oaks at Oakland Plantation. A private family graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Andersonville National Cemetery.
Mrs. Inlow was born on November 28, 1927 in Americus, GA to Edwin and Grace English, was one of ten children and loved her family of brothers and sisters. She grew up Americus and graduated from Americus High School 1944. She met Bernard C. Inlow, her husband of fifty-six years while he was attending Georgia Southwestern College on the GI Bill. She became a Military Wife, traveling the globe with their four children before moving to Albany, GA in 1963.
Mrs. Inlow was employed with the Marine Corps Logistic Base-Albany before retiring in 1980. The Inlow’s were honored by being named The Albany Family of The Year in 2000 by the Albany Women’s Club. Mrs. Inlow enjoyed a very active life and was a member of Porterfield Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of The VFW Ladies Auxiliary, The Military Wives Association, and The Albany Women’s Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Clifford Inlow, a son, Royce Inlow and a grandson, Jamie Lyon.
Survivors include her children, Carol Wiggins, Gary Inlow and Martha Lyon all of Albany, GA, her siblings, Elenore Davis of Albany, GA, Gloria Dunmon of Americus, GA and Donnie English of Atlanta, GA, her grandchildren, Jeff (Kristi) Wiggins, Colby (Carmen) Wiggins, Ryan (Kimberly) Inlow, Jay (Libba) Inlow, Lacy (Allen) McClendon, Leslie Lyon, Joey Inlow and Brittany (Jordan) Mellinger and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
The family is thankful for the care and dedication for the staff of The Oaks At Oakland Plantation during Mrs. Inlow’s residency there.
