Betty Jean Haynes

Betty Jean Haynes, 67, of Lee County, GA, died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

A native of Worth County, GA, born to the late John and Cora Lee Downs, Mrs. Haynes grew up in Sylvester, GA and graduated from Worth County High School. She was formerly employed with Coats and Clark, Flint River Mills and retired from Sports Awards. Mrs. Haynes was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Mack D. Haynes of Lee County, GA, a daughter and her husband, Laura and Mike Phillips of Putney, GA, three grandchildren, Anthony Phillips of Ocala, FL and Kelly Phillips and Keith Phillips both Putney, GA, a great-grandchild, Julian Phillips and a sister and her husband, Pearl and Charles Perry of Tifton, GA. She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters,

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
