Betty Jean Giddens Griffith, 80, of Lee County, GA, died November 17, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Wesley Kaylor will officiate. Committal services will follow at 12:00 Noon at Andersonville National Cemetery.

A native of Winter Park, FL, Mrs. Griffith grew up in Turner Co., GA and was a student and cheerleader at Sycamore High School where she graduated and she was a student of the fine arts focused in oil painting at Albany Junior College. She moved to Lee County, GA forty-two years ago and was married to the late Robert Seiger Griffith who died in 2013. She was also preceded in death by one half-sister Rowena Giddens and a half-brother Rex Giddens. Mrs. Griffith was a homemaker and a member of Sasser United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, David J. Fiveash and his wife, Chris of Columbus, GA, a daughter, Bettina C. Fiveash Lester and her fiancée, David Morell, Sr. of Leesburg, GA, a step-son, Carey R. Griffith, of Destin, FL, a step-daughter, Joan E. Heidrich and her husband Tim of Villa Rica, GA, a brother, Garland Giddens of Sycamore, GA, two sisters, Norma Denham and Evelyn Pankratz both of Ashburn, GA, three half-brothers Roger, Randy, and Riley Giddens, one half-sister Rachel Giddens, and three grandchildren, Danielle Lester Whidden of Leesburg, GA, Jessica Fiveash and Autumn K. Fiveash both of Columbus, GA, and three great grandchildren, Chloe, Liam, and Sophia.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Mathews Funeral Home.
