Betty Ruth Demott

Betty Ruth Demott, 78, of Albany, GA died March 17, 2025 in Ashburn, GA. Funeral Services will be held, Friday, March 21, 2025 at 7:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Joe Brown will officiate.

Mrs. Demott was born at home in Lee County, GA to the late Joe and Lizzie Avery. She lived most of her life in Dougherty County, GA and was a homemaker and was employed with Lee County Manufacturing for over twenty years. Mrs. Demott loved shopping and providing for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren in the pool, Christmas season and fireworks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Eugene “Bo” Harden, her siblings, Kathleen Avery, Alice Reynolds, Joel Avery and Dan Avery.

Survivors include her children, Darren (Angela) Harden and Sharon Harden, her grandchildren, John Harden, Emily Harden, Cortney (James) Dixon, Shanay Harden, Christopher Lavant, James (Kelly) Harden, Rachel Harden, Beau Harden and Brittany Harden and her siblings, Annie (James) Presley and Bertha Futch.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Friday, March 21, 2025 at Mathews Funeral Home.
