Betty Jean Craft, 74, of Albany, GA, died October 2, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church. Norman Denney will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Edison, GA, born to Emmett and Vadye Stevens, Mrs. Craft graduated from Edison High School in 1959 and moved to Albany, GA. She attended Albany Vo technical College and was employed with Pace Insurance Company and Copelan Insurance Company. She later worked with her husband at their family business, Craft Paint and Decorating Company. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband, Aubrey Melvin Craft, Sr. of Albany, GA, a son and his wife, Alan and Wendy Craft of Worth County, GA, two brothers and their wives, Bobby and Martha Sue Stevens of Albany, GA and Jimmy and Judy Stevens of Panacea, FL, five sisters, Ann McClendon and her, Ted of Edison, GA, Martha Lanier of Patmos, GA, Shirley Tsourmas of Chicago, IL, Carol Fuller and her husband, Winton of Eatonton, GA and Dorothy Paul of Edison, GA and six grandchildren, Heather Craft, Alexandria Craft, Victoria Craft, Olivia Craft and Sophia Craft all of Worth County, GA and Haley Craft and Hunter Craft of Lee County, GA. She was preceded in death by a son, Aubrey Melvin Craft, Jr, a brother, Emmett Stevens, Jr., and a great granddaughter, Makayla Aubrey Harrison.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Mathews Funeral Home.
