Bettie Higgins Carow, 89, of Dawson, GA died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Dawson Health and Rehabilitation. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, The Rev. Jay Weldon and The Rev. Joy O. Davis will officiate. Honorary seating will be available for "Daughters of the King".
A native of Bellevue, OH, Mrs. Carow grew up in Miami, FL and graduated from Miami High School. She had resided in Albany, GA since 1955 moving from Thomasville, GA. She has been living in Dawson, GA since 2012. She was a charter member at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, where she was a member of its "Order of the Daughters of the King".
After being an active realtor for twenty years, Mrs. Carow was employed with Gayfers Department store for seventeen years until her retirement. She was a member of the Georgia Realtors Association and a lifelong member of the Albany Little Theater. She was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Michael Carow.
Survivors include three daughters Kathleen (Forrest) Thomas of Albany, GA, Karen Dees (Doug) of Vidalia, GA, Cassandra Carow of Albany, GA, and a son Kurt Carow (Rebecca) of Lee's Summit, MO, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 until the service hour at the church.
