Bennie Frank (Ben) Ketchum, 74, of Lee Co., GA, died Friday, April 24, 2015 at Phoebe North Medical Center. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Robbie Anderson will officiate.
Born in Clio, AL on October 10, 1940 to James Tellis Ketchum and Donnie Barefield Ketchum, Mr. Ketchum and his wife Helen had resided in several cities in the state of Florida before returning to Clio, AL. In 1995 Mr. Ketchum moved to Lee Co., GA. He was in the aircraft manufacturing business and was a well- respected master of his craft and well- known for his teaching abilities. He had a tremendous wit, a great sense of humor, a very generous and loving family man and the life of the party.
Mr. Ketchum was of the Pentecostal faith and in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffery Scott Christian and a brother Billy (Hambone) Ketchum.
Survivors include his wife of forty years, Helen Cravey Ketchum, Lee Co., GA, three sons, David Duncan (Laurie), Warner Robins, GA, Ben Ketchum, Jr. (Susan), Phenix City, AL, Tony Ketchum (USAF) Sumter, SC, three daughters, Pam Christian, Riverview, FL, Tammy Anderson Hydrick (Robert), Albany, GA, Van Huynh, Land O' Lakes, FL, two sisters, Mildred Burr, Columbus, GA and Geraldine Heath, Headland, AL, six grandchildren, Timothy Duncan, Robbie Anderson (Jessica), Brian Anderson, Phillip Anderson, Sean Ketchum and Hannah Duncan and three great-grandchildren, Amber Anderson, Judah Paul Anderson and Avery Claire Anderson.
Those desiring may make memorials to a charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends following the service.
