Bennie C. Carter

Bennie C. Carter, 86, of Lee County, GA, died July 3, 2017 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Leesburg Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Taylor will officiate.

Mr. Carter was born in Baxley, GA to the late Benjamin and Mozelle Carter. Mr. Carter graduated from Appling High School and moved to Albany, GA in 1960 from Jacksonville, FL. He was employed with Ferrell Gas Company and retired from Ever-Glo Propane Company. Mr. Carter was a member of Westview Baptist Church and loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his wife, Ann L. Carter, two daughters and their husbands, Teresa and Charles Cook and Tammy and Kevin Cotton, two grandchildren, Corey Cotton and Kylie Cotton, one step-grandchild, Jennifer Heath and her husband, Carl, four step-great-grandchildren, Amber, Baileigh, Ty and Brandi all of Lee County, GA and two sisters-in-law, Betty Bennett and Lynda Kirkland and her husband, Gary of Albany, GA. He was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Jeffrey Cook.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
