Benjie Paige Cook

Benjie Paige Cook, 63, of Albany, GA, died January 23, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. David Martin will officiate.  The United States Army Honor Guard will perform Military Honors.

Benjie was born on March 2, 1963 in Albany, GA to the late Ernest and Mary Louise Paige Cook.  He grew up in Lee County, GA and graduated from Lee County High School in 1979.  He immediately joined The United Army and served for four years.

After his service to his country, he lived in Dalton, GA and then moved back to Albany where he was employed with Walmart and Burger King.  Benjie spent the next thirty years of his career with Civil Service at The Marine Corps Logistic Base in Albany.  He enjoyed repairing computers, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Heidi Cook of Albany, two daughters, Emma Lasiter (Joshua Grant) of Albany, GA and Elizabeth Bell of Dawson, GA, a grandson, Joshua A. Grant, two sisters, Stacy (Joe) Whiddon of Taylor, AL and Tracy Brown of Blountsville, AL and a brother, Ernest (Sondra) Cook of Rabbit, GA. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm Saturday at Mathews Funeral Home.
