Benjamin Thomas (Ben) Clenney, 91, of Albany, GA died July 3, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Ross Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with the American Legion Post # 30 providing Military Honors.
Mr. Clenney was born in Edison, GA on October 28, 1926. After High School, Mr. Clenney entered the United States Army and served for twenty one years including his service in the Philippines during World War II. He was a retired Realtor with the Real Estate Brokers Group and was a member of the Albany Coin Club and the Kiwanis Club. Mr. Clenney was also an avid golfer and member of Stonebridge Country Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ziegler Clenney and his siblings, Gussie Peak, Jimmie Mae Wall, Emmie Johnston, Dorothy Carter, Betty Scruggs, Richard Clenney and Robert Clenney.
Survivors include fifteen nieces and nephews including Lee Cox, James Cox, Brenda Cox Wintersole and Sammy Peak all of Albany, GA.
The family will receive friends Saturday one hour before the funeral at Mathews Funeral Home.
