Belinda Diana Judy, 62 of Albany, died Monday, January 16, 2017 at Pruitt Health- Palmyra.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Belinda worked in the legal field as a legal secretary and later as a legal assistant for approximately 22 years. She was a member of the Albany Legal Secretaries Association, serving three terms as president, as well as serving in all others offices and on all committees and subcommittees several time.
She also served the Georgia Association of Legal Secretaries as State Treasurer one term and served on several committees with the state association.
Belinda began her court reporting career in 1999. She has served on the Georgia Certified Court Reporters Association as its Treasurer for 2005-2006 term and other committees. She has been an official certified court reporter since April 1, 2001 to Chief Judge Joe C. Bishop and Judge Ronnie Joe Lane in the Pataula Judicial Circuit.
Belinda was diagnosed with brain cancer in November 2006 but was able to overcome it with 18 months through intensive radiation and chemotherapy treatments, positive thoughts, determination and prayers from everyone, family, friends and co-workers. She returned to work in the courtroom part-time in May 2008.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, David, two children, Emily Jeanette Haight (Greg, Penrose, NC, Darrin Wayne Judy (Anne), Albany, six grandchildren, Joshua Blythe Judy, Loren Judy, Autumn Rain Judy, Jesten Haight, Breanna Judy Haight and Elijah Haight.
