Beatrice Kinard Mack of Dawson and later of Royston, Georgia, entered into rest on August 13, 2023.
Bea was born on March 26, 1933 to Herman P. Kinard and Ruby Mae Parker Kinard and is a native of Brunson, South Carolina. She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Robin Caroline Mack; two sons, Terry Michael Dickey and Christopher Edward Dickey; her husband, Robert Ulysses Mack; brother Malcolm Kinard; brother Carlisle Kinard; sister Helen Reese; sister Evelyn Mack; sister Bobbie Kovach; sister Patsy David; sister Gwen Seymour; sister Joyce Kinard.
As a young woman, she excelled at sports, most notably basketball. As a high school senior she was voted as half of the “The Cutest Couple.”
Bea married Robert Mack and eventually the couple settled in Dawson, Ga. where they raised two sons and a daughter. Bea was employed as a team leader and manager at Oxford Industries for many years. She was later employed by the Red Cross and by Dawson Vision Clinic. Bea was an accomplished seamstress whose skills were much in demand, especially around prom time. She was a wonderful grandmother (“Mamu”); a devoted mother; and was affectionately known as “Aunt Bea” to her nieces and nephews and extended friends and family. Bea loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Dawson Baptist Church for many years. She loved the Georgia Bulldogs and attended games in Athens with her good friend Patsy Speir during the Goff-Donnan-Richt era. As Bea’s health declined, she moved to Royston, Ga. to be closer to her daughter, Kathy Wiggins, and son in law, Mark. For the last months of her life, Bea lived at Heritage Inn of Barnesville, Ga where she was carefully and lovingly attended to by their staff and finally by hospice. The family thanks the staff at Heritage for their attentive care.
Bea is survived by her daughter and son in law, Mark and Kathy Wiggins of Colbert; Grandson Motie Wiggins of Colbert; Granddaughter Laura Slade (Kyle) Weishaar of Fayetteville; Great Granddaughter Clementina Beatrice Weishaar of Fayetteville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
