Barbara Janice Pollock Wood

Barbara Janice Pollock Wood, 59, of Mitchell County, GA, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Chris Turner will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Mitchell Co., GA, Mrs. Wood had resided in Baconton, GA for thirty five years moving from Albany, GA. She was a homemaker and was a member of Lighthouse Ministries. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hilda Holmes Pollock.

Survivors include her husband, Sammy Wood, Baconton, GA, three sons, William Charles (Billy) Wood, Lee Co., GA, Benjamin Scott (Scotty) Wood, Gulf Breeze, FL, Christopher James (Chris) Wood, Mitchell Co., GA, her father, Joseph Charles (Shorty) Pollock, Lee Co., GA, two brothers, Joe Pollock (Beth), Lee Co, GA, Roger Pollock, Worth Co., GA, three sisters, Brenda McIntire (Mack),
Bridgeboro, GA, Charlene Sawyer (Greg), Albany, GA, Annell Whitaker (Rusty, Albany, GA, five grandchildren, Hunter Wood, Heather Jones, Madison Glover, Gavin Bagby and Camerson McLean. A very special cousin, Angela Jackson and dearest friend Rita Ackley.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The family is at the residence of Rusty and Annell Whitaker, 124 Laurel Dr., Albany, GA.
