Cheryl Wingate Harpe, 73, of Albany, GA, entered into eternal rest with Jesus surrounded by her family, December 4, 2024, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside Memorial services will be held Monday, December 9, 2024, at 2 pm at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Paul will officiate.
Cheryl was born in Albany, GA, on July 16, 1951, to the late Grady and Nita Wingate. She was raised in Albany, graduated from Dougherty High School in 1971 and Darton College in 1973. Cheryl was employed with WJIZ Radio Station, M&M Mars, and Liberty National Insurance. She was a member of Kinchafoonee Baptist Church where she served as an Act Teen Director, a mentor for countless teens, and attended the Family Worship Center. Cheryl enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Grady Edgar Wingate, Nita Ann Wingate Howell, her daughter Melissa Wingate Harpe, and grandson Tyler Cook.
Survivors include her husband of twenty five years, Brad Harpe, her children, Roger (Trish) Cook and Anita Cook all of Lee County, GA, Maria (Brian) Patterson of Tallahassee, FL and Brandi (Jenna) Harpe of Kathleen, GA, her siblings, William (Connie) Wingate, Linda (David) Anderson and Tommy Wingate all of Albany, GA, eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews, and a very special life long friend, Debra Bell.
Those desiring may make memorials in memory of Cheryl to the Alzheimer’s Association.
