Barbara Kimbrell Griner

Barbara Kimbrell Griner,78, of Albany, GA, died Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at her residence.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Norman Denney and Rev. Gerry Doree will officiate.  Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Griner was born in Patmos, GA to Wilburn R. and Rosa Sheffield Kimbrell on July 22, 1943.  She had an extensive career in the banking and finance industry, and later became the Office Manager for Industrial Manufacturing where she retired in 2012.

Barbara was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was very active including serving as a Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer. She was devoted to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn R. Kimbrell and Rosa Sheffield Kimbrell, husband, Donald Michael Griner and siblings, Mary Jane Kimbrell, Muriel Kimbrell, Deloris kimbrell, William Kimbrell, Marlin Kimbrell, Evelyn Oaks, Johnny Kimbrell and Jeanette Faulk.

Survivors include her children, Michael F. Griner (Amber) of Morgan, GA and Sheila  Alexander (Mitchell) of Cobb, GA, siblings, Luther Kimbrell of Miami, FL, Carol Willis (Junior) of Baconton, GA, Grace Bannister of Albany, GA and Debbie Takeshita (Lance) of Aeia, HI, grandchildren, Justin Alexander, Ashley (Weston) Tabor and Brandy Clements (Buck) and great-grandchildren, Sawyer Alexander, Brighton Clements, Amariah Tabor, Abigail Tabor, Ashtyn Tabor, Alayna Tabor and Wesley Tabor and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
