Barbara "Babs" Joyce Duncan Turner

Barbara "Babs" Joyce Duncan Turner, 88 of Albany formally of Lee Co. peacefully passed away at the Phoenix of Albany. Graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.

Babs was born in Whitesburg, Georgia to the late David and Annie Jewel Duncan. She dedicated a significant portion of her life to her career as a Branch Manager for SunTrust bank. With unwavering commitment and integrity, she served the bank for an impressive 30 years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Albany and also attended Sunday School class at the church.

Babs cherished her time with family and enjoyed engaging in various hobbies and interests. She found solace and inspiration in reading her Bible, she delighted in pursuing the art of crochet and finding joy in solving challenging word search puzzles. However, it was watching the beloved game show Wheel of Fortune that brought her utmost delight.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard “Rick” Turner and her son Mike Turner.

Survivors include her daughter, Marie Watkins (George), daughter-in-law, Karen Turner, all of Lee Co. GA, her grandchildren, Steven Watkins, Lee Co. Derrick Cook (Amanda) Hahira, GA, Terrence Cook (Amanda), Lee Co. Ben Turner, Colorado, six great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Sue Duncan, Carrollton, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
