Robert Wade Suggs, Sr.

Robert Wade Suggs, Sr., 83, of Baconton, GA passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 4, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Enon Baptist Church Cemetery, Mitchell Co., GA.

Born and raised in Albany, GA, Mr. Suggs was very athletic and a graduate of Albany High School where he was on the track team. He was retired from Georgia Power where he was a boiler turbine operator and shift foreman. He was a member of Putney First Baptist Church where he was active in his Sunday School Class and also served as a deacon

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Wade Suggs and Mary Helen Bradshaw, his wife, Eva Collins Suggs and a son, Richard Evan (Richie) Suggs.

Survivors include his sons Robert Wade (Robbie) Suggs, Baconton, GA, Timothy Scott Suggs, Acworth, GA, brother, Ronnie F. Suggs,  Prembroke Pines, FL, Michael Suggs, Lee Co., GA, sisters, Jackie Suggs, Albany, GA, Elizabeth Yancey, Sycamore, GA, seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.  

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
