Aubrey Melvin Craft, Sr

Aubrey Melvin Craft, Sr., 83, of Albany, GA, died June 6, 2016 at Evergreen Assisted Living Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church. Norman Denney will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Patmos, a Mr. Craft was raised in Arlington, GA and graduated from Arlington High School in 1950. He joined the United States Air Force and served in Japan during the Korean Conflict and moved to Albany, GA in 1960.

Mr. Craft was a farmer and was employed with Pittsburg Paint and Glass before purchasing the paint franchise. He renamed the business, Craft Paint and Decoration and along with his late wife, operated it for many years before retiring in 1995. Mr. Craft was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and was a member of Men's Bible Class. He was preceded in death by a son, Aubrey M. Craft, Jr. in 2011 and by his wife, Betty Jean Craft in 2015.

Survivors include his son and his wife, Alan and Wendy of Worth County, GA, his grandchildren, Heather Craft of Tallahassee, FL, Alexandra Stoyle and her husband, Elijah of Pelham, GA, Victoria Stoyle and her husband, Caleb of Jacksonville, NC, Olivia Craft and Sophia Craft both of Worth County, GA, Haley Craft and Hunter Craft both of Lee County, GA, a great-granddaughter, Makayla Aubrey, a brother and his wife, Wayne and Olive Craft of Albany, GA and a sister, Ann Newberry of Arlington, GA.

The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral at Calvary Baptist Church.
