Arva Joy Ward Williams

Arva Joy Williams, 83, of Lawrenceville, GA, died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2700 Westgate Dr., Albany, GA. Richey Marbury and Steve Hall will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Harold Pierson Ward and Ida Lenore Perkins Ward, she lived in Albany, GA from 1940 until 1982 and was employed by J. C. Penney Co. In 1982, she and her late husband were transferred to Lawrenceville, Ga where she continued working for J. C. Penny Co. until her retirement in 1994.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as a missionary with the church in 2009 and 2010. She loved her family and loved attending all of her children and grandchildren's activities and honors programs and will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband of sixty four years, William Hillman Williams, Sr. They loved each other dearly and their devotion to each other was an inspiration to everyone that they knew.

Survivors include three sons, William H. (Bill) Williams, Jr. (Sharron), Lee Co., GA, Jerry Williams (Wendy). Tarzana, CA, Dave William (Eve), Cave Springs, GA, a daughter, Gail Iverson (Dan), Brassleton, GA and eight grandchildren, Daneka West, Morgan Iverson, Madison Iverson, Lauren Williams, Michaela Williams, Matt Williams, Brent Williams and Sarah Williams.

The family would like to extend a special thanks and recognition to Willson Hospice House for their care and compassion during Mrs. Williams's final days.
