He was born July 29, 1910 to Henry and Katherine Rosenbaum. His father was a rancher and miner in the Gunnison Valley, near Iola, Colorado. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1940 and served 26 years in the Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II and served in Guam during the Vietnam War. He also served ten years with the US Air Force Missions to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Caracas, Venezuela. He returned to Turner Air Force Base to retire in 1966.
He embraced his new hometown and lived and worked in Albany operating Donahoue's Gulf and later Donahoue's Heating and Air Conditioning from which he retired at the age of 100 in 2010. Mr. D as he was affectionately known by his friends was a kind and generous man. He loved his family, friends and country. He was hard working, enjoyed humorous situations and loved to read.
His survivors include his son, Arthur Michael Donahoue; wife, Carmita of the Republic of Panama; daughters, Patricia Donahoue-Knapp of Albany, and Sandra Elaine McDonald of Worth County; twelve grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren; his former wife, Helen Donahoue, who remained a friend and neighbor; and his youngest sister (100 years old) of Gunnison, CO.
