Archie Ray "Trooper" Davidson

Archie Ray Davidson “Trooper”, 72, of Parrott, formerly of Albany, died Monday, April 30, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 5, from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. According to his wishes, Mr. Davidson will be cremated.

A native of Panama City, FL, Mr. Davidson had lived in Parrott for the past twenty-two years. He was a proud Veteran, husband, father, and grandfather that served in Korea with the U.S. Army Special Forces. He was a true soldier with a hard outer shell but, through his writings many found his soft heart and sweet voice. He was a man of great strength always there at the end of the line to help others stand when they would trip or fall. It’s not every day you meet a true southern author and a man that lived up to his name as Grandpa Trooper.

He is survived by his wife, Alicia W. Davidson, daughters, Audrey Davidson, Parrott, GA, Julie (Scott) Balk, Miamisburg, OH, sister, Ann (Lewis) Hale, Jacksonville, FL and 2 grandchildren, Samuel Balk and Sophia Balk.
