Mae Daniels Wright, 85, of Albany, GA, died December 11, 2013 at Phoebe North. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 PM at the First Southern Methodist Church of Albany, GA. Rev. Fletcher Rawls and Rev. George Howell will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Macon, GA, born to the late A.C and Willa Daniels, she graduated from Vienna High School and lived in Pinehurst, GA before moving to Albany, GA in 1951. Early in her career, Mrs. Wright was employed at Warner Robins Air Force Base. After moving to Albany, GA, she was employed with the Georgia Power Company and retired from the Marine Corps Logistic Base.

Along with her family, Mrs. Wright owned and operated Hughes Hardware Company on Old Johnson Road and 19 North in Lee County. She was a founding member of the First Southern Methodist Church, where she was very active, teaching Sunday School, serving as Treasurer and a member of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Wright was a very caring person to everyone especially her family and would do for others before doing for herself. She was preceded in death by her husand, John J. Wright.

Survivors include her children, Elise Hughes and her husband, Fussell and Boyce Wright all of Albany, GA and John Wright and his wife, Linda of Leesburg, GA, two brothers, A.C. Daniels, Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Vienna, GA and Will L. Daniels and his wife, Jimmie Carol of St. Mary's, GA, her former daughter-in-law, JoAnn Wright of Albany, GA, six grandchildren, Brooks (Callie) Wright, Brian Wright, Julia (Brandon) Ross all of Albany, GA, Traci (Dewayne) Pitts of Americus, GA, Grady (Becky) Hughes of Preston, GA and Dusty (Glen) Pickelsimer of Leesburg, GA and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at Mathews Funeral Home.

The family is at the residence of Julia and Brandon Ross, 3528 Wexford Drive, Albany, GA, 31721.
