Anne Bacon Studdard of 107 E. Artesian Avenue, Montezuma, GA passed away on March 3, 2012. She was 86 years old.

Mrs. Studdard was born Leila Anne Bacon in Doerun, GA, on March 13, 1925, the daughter of Ernest Lynwood Bacon and Sally Hadden Bacon. A graduate of Doerun High School, Mrs. Studdard attended Georgia State Women's College at Valdosta and graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University.

Mrs. Studdard was a homemaker and an avid gardener, as had been her mother and her maternal grandmother, Leila Brown Hadden, wife of Rev. James Franklin Hadden, a Congregational Church minister. Her Paternal grandfather, James Lydrell Bacon, was a native of Marion County. Mrs. Studdard was a member of Montezuma United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of forty one years, Bobby L. Studdard of Montezuma. They resided in Fresno, California, and Dade City, Florida, before making their home in Montezuma, GA in 1988. She is also survived by a son, Cleveland Jay Harp, III, of New York; a daughter, Patricia Harp Rumph and her husband, David M. Rumph, Jr. of Montezuma, GA; a step-daughter, Pamela Fredibel, of Jasper, GA; a step-son, Robert C. Studdard of Commerce, GA; three grandchildren, Sally Rumph Haugabook (Steven) of Watkinsville, GA; David M. Rumph, III (Brady) of Columbus, GA; James Harp Rumph of Atlanta, GA; and a step-granddaughter, Carly Wood of Jasper, GA. Mrs. Studdard was blessed with four great-grandchildren, William Haugabook, Anne McKenzie Haugabook, David Rumph, IV, and Carter Rumph and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Bacon Hammond.

A private graveside service for the family will be held at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma on Monday, March 5, 2012 followed by a memorial service at the Montezuma United Methodist Church at 11:30 AM with Rev. Billy Kimbrel officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.

Memorial donations may be made to the Montezuma United Methodist Church, 201 North Dooly Street, Montezuma, GA 31063.
