Anna Ruth Pejko

Anna Ruth Pejko, 80, of Albany, GA died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Central Baptist Church. Rev. Greg Davis, Major Henry Hunter and A/Captain John Sikes will officiate. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery.

A native of Valdosta, GA, Mrs. Pejko had resided in Albany, GA since 1982 moving from Belt, MT. She was a retired social worker with the Salvation Army, a member of Central Baptist Church and a member of Air Force Sergeants Association Auxiliary. Mrs. Pejko graduated from Valdosta High School in 1950, traveled extensively as a military wife and served as a Girl Scout leader. Mrs. Pejko was a Sunday School Teacher at Central Baptist Church for several years, devoted Christian, and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Andy Pejko of Albany, GA, two daughters, Judy Russell of Albany, GA, Andrea Sikes and her husband, John of Greenville, NC, her grandchildren, Sara Wadkins and her husband Shawn of Lee County, GA, Melissa Odom and her husband, David of Newnan, GA, Paige White of Lee County, GA and John Andrew (Jay) Sikes of Greensboro, NC, her great-grandchildren, Lauren Wadkins, Morgan Wadkins, Taylor Broderick, Robbie Broderick, Cody White and step-great-grandchild, Michael Odom.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
