Anna Laura Gordon (Tennie) Haire, 89, passed from this earthly life to her eternal home in Heaven on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Parkway Church of God. Rev. Dana Swain will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Haire was born in Miller Co., GA on October 21, 1926. She was the youngest daughter of John D. Gordon and Mary Musgrove Gordon of Colquitt, GA. She graduated from Miller County High School in May 1945. She received a scholarship to Morris Business College in Atlanta, GA and was presented a medal and letter for her high school years as a member of the girl's basketball team.
She married Eugene (Gene) Haire on October 5, 1946 her sweetheart, husband and hero. Gene preceded her in death on February 18, 2008. She retired from Flint River Textiles after forty one years. She had the opportunity to work in many areas of the plant. She retired a time keeper / payroll for the plant workers. After retirement she and her husband enjoyed traveling to many places. They enjoyed their lake front home on Lake Seminole, fishing with family and friends. She loved to read, sew, crochet, needle point, cross stich, working with flowers and collecting Angel figurines.
She was an active member of Liberty Parkway Church of God. She sang with the church choir for many years, taught Sunday school for more than sixty years and took part in the Ladies Ministries where she served as vice-president and secretary and treasurer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dennis Gordon and Mary Musgrove Gordon, six sisters, Alpha Musgrove, Catherine Phillips Wilkerson, Winnie Ruth Myers Windom, Ruby Black, Jeanette Kelley, Pauline Kirksey and a brother Dennis Calvin Gordon.
Survivors include her son, John Dennis Haire and his wife Terrie, Leesburg, GA, two granddaughters, Melinda Haire McRee and her husband Chuck, Martinez, GA, Michelle Haire Cole and her husband Dell, Juliette, GA, three great-grandsons, John Burton McRee, Carter Cole, Cason Cole and a great-granddaughter, Jacie Cole and a number of nieces, nephews and many of her husband's family who she loved also.
The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Haire, 225 Winship Drive, Leesburg, GA.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Liberty Parkway Church of God.
