Ann R. Sims

Ann R. Sims, 81, of Albany, GA, passed away, Thursday, October 5, 2017 at her residence.  Funeral services will be conducted, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 10:30 am at Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. Butch Knight will officiate.  Interment will follow at 3:00 pm in Oakhill Cemetery in Quitman, GA. Pastor Steve Lindenmeyer will officiate. 

Born July 14, 1936 in Atlanta, GA to the late Blanche and Rev. Ben F. Rooks. Ann graduated from Morven High School in 1954 and in 1958 Graduated from Bessie-Tift College with a Bachelors in education.  Ann moved to Albany, GA in 1960 and taught school with the Dougherty County School System for thirty four years before retiring.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Albany. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Clarence “Cobb” Sims.

Survivors include a sister Ellen R. Roy of Valdosta, GA, a niece Marie and her husband, Pastor Steve Lindenmeyer and two great nephews Andrew and Aaron Lindenmeyer all of Charleston, SC.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, one hour prior to the funeral at Mathews Funeral Home.
