Angelene Nicole Hughes

Angelene Nicole Hughes 27, of Headland, AL, formerly of Albany, GA died Friday September 14, 2012 at the University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Gill will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

A native of Albany, GA, Angelene was born with spina bifida, was a patient at Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta, GA and was blessed to live a life much longer than expected. Angelene was homeschooled and received her high school diploma. She moved to Headland, AL nine years ago and her computer, her pets and her family were her world.

Survivors include her father and his wife, Roy and Pam Hughes of Leesburg, GA, her mother, Phyllis Pruitt of headland, AL, a brother, Kevin Glenn (Jessica) Hughes of Headland, AL, a sister, Megan Marie Hughes of Leesburg, GA, paternal grandmother, Sybil (Dempsey) Marshall of Leesburg, GA, maternal grandfather, Phillip Sellars of Jacksonville, FL and a nephew, James Glenn Hughes of Leesburg, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 AM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
