Andrew J. (Jay) Jackson, Jr. 63, of Lee County, GA, died July 19, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Notchaway Baptist Church Cemetery in Baker County, GA. Rev. Bill Suggs will officiate. Steve Casey, Rodney Cooper, Ricky Harris, Ted Hamlin, Donnie Krack and Kip Fox will serve as honorary pallbearers.

A native of Colquitt, GA, born to the late Andrew and Juanita Jackson, Jay grew up in Baker and Lee Counties. He graduated from Lee County High School in 1971 and served in the United States Army during Vietnam and was stationed in Germany.

Jay was employed with Gillionville Plantation from 1978 until 1997 and was employed with Flint River Materials, Inc. before retiring in 2011. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg. Jay was preceded in death by a sister, Paulene Cooper.

Survivors include his wife, Denise Fox Jackson of Lee County, GA, three children, Trey Jackson and his wife, Brandi, Mandy Warren and her husband, Jared, all of Lee County, GA and Kylie Jacobs and her husband, Brandon of Perry, GA, his sister, Peggie Suggs and her husband, Bill of Lee County, GA, his two brothers, Richard Jackson and his wife, Mary of Albany, GA and Jessie Jackson and his wife, Sandra of Lee County, GA, a brother-in-law, Gary Cooper of Lawrenceville, GA and his grandchildren, Cassidy Warren, Chris Warren, Brittlyn Jackson, Kade Jackson, J.J. Jackson and Logan Jacobs.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at Mathews Funeral Home.
