Anderson Lewis Hyman, 83, of Mitchell County, GA died March 15, 2012 at Mitchell Convalescent Center in Camilla, GA. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. David Aumsbaugh will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

A native of Worth County, GA he was born to the late Horace Daniel Hyman and Mary Coston Hyman. Mr. Hyman’s mother died when he was a small child and he was raised by his step-mother, the late Mattie Lou Hyman. Mr. Hyman lived in Lee County, GA before moving to Albany over fifty years ago. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Mr. Hyman was a strong and gentle man and loved his family. He made a living doing what he loved to do. Completely self-taught, he was a master mechanic who spent the great majority of his life working on vehicles. Mr. Hyman was employed with Beck Motor Company for many years before opening Hyman Truck Repair in 1988. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a wonderful grandfather and a friend to all who knew him.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Sylvia and Donald Ford of Cleveland, TN, Deborah and John Wilson of Sasser, GA and Mary and David Aumsbaugh of Albany, GA, five grandchildren, Courtney Ford of Cleveland, TN, Daniel Buckner of Athens, GA, Sarah Buckner of Moultrie, GA, Andy Aumsbaugh of Bronwood, GA and Zach Aumsbaugh of Albany, GA, four great-grandchildren, Jayden Buckner, Brinston Buckner, Laylin Aumsbaugh and Aubree Aumsbaugh and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Helen Hyman, a grandson, Josh Aumsbaugh and four sisters, Ruby Carswell Whitfield, Nannie Breeden, Nellie Hautala and Mae Palmer.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM before the funeral at Mathews Funeral Home.

The family is at the residence of Mary and David Aumsbaugh, 2300 Hoover St., Albany, GA, 31707.
