Amos "Pete" Crosby, 83, of Leesburg, GA, died April 4, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Doerun City Cemetery. Rev. Harris Whitman will officiate.

A native of Colquitt County, born to the late Henry and Parrie Crosby, He was raised in Doerun and graduated from Doerun High School in 1949 and served in the United States Army during Korea. Mr. Crosby had resided in Leesburg, GA since 1977 moving from Albany, GA.

He was employed in trucking and transportation all of his adult life and was formerly employed with Georgia Highway Express and retired as Night Supervisor for AAA Cooper Transport. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife Elizabeth R. Crosby, three sons Larry Crosby of Nashville, GA, Tony (Cherry) Crosby of Albany, GA, Keith (Denieen) Crosby of Pavo, GA, two sisters Sarah Chapman and Mandy (Bob) Mazure both of Doerun, GA, eight grandchildren Kevin Crosby of Nashville, GA, Jennifer Crosby of Willachoochee, GA, Kelly Mobley and Clay Crosby both of Cairo, GA, Ashley Crosby and Haley Crosby both of Albany, GA and Brandon Crosby and Hillary Crosby both of Valdosta, GA and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
