Alvah Julian Lindsey, 74, of Lee County, GA died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Suggs, Rev. Mike Carter, Rev. Clifton Elmore, and Mr. Frank Hall will officiate. Interment will follow at Leesburg Cemetery.

A native of Nashville, GA Mr. Lindsey moved to Albany in 1970 and moved to Lee Co. GA twenty years ago. He retired with the Georgia State Patrol as Chief License Examiner in 1993. He was a member of Vickers Baptist Church in Berrien County, GA and attended Southside Baptist Church in Albany, GA.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Ivey Lindsey of Lee County, GA, a son, Tony Lindsey (Terrie) of Lee County, GA, a daughter, Tracy Flanagan (Tim) of Mitchell County, GA, three grandchildren, Shawn Sheffield, Morgan Horbosky, and Shannon Lindsey, two step-grandchildren, Ashley Flanagan and Bubba Flanagan and three great-grandchildren, Cade Sheffield, Lena Sheffield, and Kennedy Sheffield.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
