Alma Walls

Alma Walls, 78, of Albany, GA went to be with the Lord Monday, January 6, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Pine Bluff Baptist Church. Pastor Keith Smith and Pastor Mark Bullock will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Cairo, GA, born to the late John and Lena Mae Turner, Mrs. Walls grew up in Moultrie, GA and graduated from Moultrie High School in 1953. She was an Air Force wife and she was with her husband as he was stationed abroad and state side during his career. They moved to Albany in 1974 and she was a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class.

She loved her children, grandchildren and her husband, Buddy, they had a special love that only comes once in a lifetime. She was known for her love and compassion and her Sunday dinners where she got all her family and friends together and everyone was welcome. Her church family was especially important to her, as they were a big part of her life.

Survivors include her husband of fifty nine years, Leonard M. Walls of Albany, GA, two daughters, Teresa (James) Murphy of Albany, GA and Pam (Ronnie) Jones of Ft. Worth, TX, two sons, Lenny Walls of Lee County, GA and David Walls of Albany, GA, a brother, Dick Turner of Statesboro, GA, a sister, Lanora (Jack) Nattinger of Augusta, GA, her grandchildren, Becky (Aaron) Spaur of Arnoldsburg, WV, Jennifer (Mike) Irwin of Spartanburg, SC, BJay Newton of Albany, GA, Michael Joe (Michelle) Walls, Tim (Kate) Dixon all of Weatherford, TX, Karah (Robbie) Bird, Kimberly (Rigo) Miller and Kelly Walls all of Albany, GA, Mackenzee Cole and Makayla Beth Walls both of Moultrie, GA, Leslie Walls and Steven Walls both of Lee County, GA and Brandon Walls (deceased), fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
