Allene M. Leath

Allene M. Leath, 96, of Albany, GA died June 29, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday July 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.

A native of Ashburn, GA, born to the late George and Maggie Mitchell, Mrs. Leath grew up in Turner County, GA and moved to Albany, GA in 1941. She married the late Walter Frank Williams and was married to him until his death in 1971. She later married James O. Leath and they lived in Panama City Beach, FL until returning to Albany, GA in 1995.

Mrs. Leath was an amazing mother, wife, sister, and friend. She was a long time employee of Belk's Department Store and Sears and Roebuck Department Store, retiring when she was 92. She was a member of Gordy New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Frank Dwight Williams, two sisters, Marjorie M. Sutton and Beatrice Mitchell Knight, a brother, Lynn Mitchell and his wife, Wanda, all of Albany, GA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son, Robert Wayne Williams, five brothers and one sister.
