Alice Joyce Howerton Griffith

Alice Joyce Howerton Griffith, 87, of Leesburg, GA died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 13 at 3:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Clay Co, GA. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.

Born in Abbeville, AL, Mrs. Griffith had resided in Leesburg since 1961. She was a homemaker and a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Holmes Griffith, Sr., two brothers, Jack Howerton, James Earl Howerton and a sister, Janie Mae Joiner.

Survivors include a son, Floyd H. (Pete) Griffith, Jr. and a daughter, Kathy Griffith Henderson both of Leesburg, GA, two brothers, Robert (Bob) Howerton, William Murphy Howerton, both of Abbeville, AL, three sisters, Mildred Helton, Abbeville, AL, Annette Harp, Anchorage, AK, Betty Watson, Abbeville, AL, four grandchildren, James Brian Henderson, Jonathan Clay Griffith, Matthew Jay Griffith, Christopher Mark Henderson, and five great grandchildren.

The family headquarters are at 453 Georgia Hwy 195, Leesburg, GA 31763.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
